Program Notes:
This Quintet was commissioned by the Swedish woodwind quintet "Quintessence" and the music organisation "Musik i Kronoberg". The musical material includes quotations from two ancient Icelandic folk melodies, and the work's four movements are strongly linked internally, although resuming a contrasting character in texture.
